I would like to know how things are busy, yet there is not really anything out of the ordinary going on??? This week seemed to fly by.
Cora had been battling sinus issues for weeks, actually well over a month, and I couldn't stand listening to her cough and snot around. She insisted she was "fine", but I knew something lasting so long had to be investigated. Wednesday, I was able to get her to the pediatrician. Doc gave her Zithromax for possible 'walking pneumonia', and suggested using Brock's nebulizer with Albuterol to treat her wheeze.
She thought she was well enough to go to school Thursday, but couldn't make it and I had to pick her up from the nurses office. She had a fever and looked miserable! According to the school policy she couldn't return Friday because she hadn't been fever-free for 24 hrs...... She was devastated, but coughing her lungs up at the same time!?!?! I wonder at what age she will change her mind and won't get upset for having to miss school? She spent all day today (Friday) in bed with a fever. At noon I called to get her another appt to see her pediatrician. Our "regular" was out, but we could see the new Dr...... Forget that! Cora pitched a fit and refused to go. The drama didn't help her cough and "ick", so I let her have her way and made her take a nap, while I cancelled the appt.
She woke up feeling better, so hopefully we made the right decision?!?!
Avery is doing great. She is liking school and all of her friends. Like each of us, she is anticipating spring!
Brock is still struggling with seizures. I thought we had something worked out with his meds, but he fooled me and had an intense seizure at school Tuesday.......... and a smaller one today. He seems fine, and isn't bothered too much by the seizures---except for a short time following the event. Always a gamble and guessing game trying to find the right med combo..... Aside from seizures, he is doing great at school! They have him in a gait trainer and have been able to get him to take some steps! He is fond of hearing bubble wrap pop beneath his feet!! LOL. Also, Brock gets to use a tricycle and has been able to make that move---albeit backwards a few times. :) Any movement is good movement in my book!!
I have been trying to get this mess of a house back in order. My latest endeavor is painting doors. First of all, I would like to know why we have so many doors, and second of all, why did I think that 6 paneled doors would look good painted white? I suppose when I was comparing price tags, the pre-finished doors were overwhelming. "I can do it myself and save lots of money!" Ugh................... Room doors, closet doors, laundry room doors.......... the list goes on. There is still one major 72" set of french doors that I will be staining to match our existing old woodwork. Won't that be fun? It really isn't that bad, just TIME CONSUMING--especially when there are interruptions with sick kiddos and such. Also, there has been a hint of spring weather here and the last place I want to be is stuck indoors! Would it be bad to start on the landscaping and still have bare doors and no trim in our addition? HeeHee.
I hope this update finds all the ABC fans doing well.
Until next time..........
