St. Louis Cardinals

I came across a fun package deal for some Cardinals tickets and decided we were really going to venture south to St. Louis and take the family to a ball game on April 28th! We took part in All Stars for Autism, that day at Busch stadium, and we really enjoyed our day there. First, we got to eat nachos and hot dogs with Fred Bird, then we saw the Cardinals beat the Milwaukee Brewers. The weather was great while we were there and we left St. Louis just before a nasty storm hit. In fact, we left just about 5-10 minutes before the storm ripped apart a tent near Busch stadium that ended up killing a man and resulted in numerous injuries!!
ABC all smiles after a win from the Cardinals!

Our first family outing to St. Louis to see the Cardinals.

Waiting in line in front of Busch Stadium...had to snap a pic.

FRED BIRD!!!

Brock LOVED to hear Fred whistle and liked to feel his "feathers."

Brock was smiling....just couldn't grab a pic with his head up.
Jason and I had also purchased tickets for us to go to another Cardinals' game on July 6th.  However, just today we were refunded our money and the seller said he "double sold" our tickets.  :(  The "funny" part is that it appears our same tickets are now on sale on stubhub.com for close to 3 times the price!
The game gained popularity when it was announced they would be handing out another round of the World Series replica rings.  It looks like our ticket seller thought he let a couple tickets go too cheaply?  Ugh.

Also, I feel the need to update on Brock.  He started a new seizure medication, Onfi, on March 16th.  Since then he has had 2 seizures!!!!!!!!!!  I knock wood each time I brag about seizure control. but seriously it is amazing.
Girls are hanging in there and seem to be on the countdown to summer vacation.  Not much vacation with Dance, Piano, Swim lessons, summer school, etc..... :)  It will be fun and I LOVE warm summer weather!  Our spring weather has been a roller coaster of up and down temps!  Hot one week, freezing (literally) the next.  Recently, we got just a few tenths of much needed rainfall.
I hope all the ABC fans are doing well.
Until next time?  ........

Happy Easter 2012

Well.....I wasn't sure if I was ever going to do the blog anymore....but..... Last week's weather was gorgeous and the Triplet Trees were in peak bloom, so I just had to get pictures!

ABC under their Triplet Sargent Crabapple trees, and, of course PEANUT. :)

Two pretty ladies next to the Prairie Fire Crabapple

And.....after numerous pictures, I got this one of Brock. Silly boy!

Things are going ok here. Very busy, but what's new?

Time will tell if I get inspired to continue this blog.....

Hope all the ABC fans are doing well.

HAPPY EASTER!

Brock Day 2012 and updates

Ok, so I haven't posted here for quite some time..... I have to confess that Brock's surgery and recovery have been rather rough!

So much pain and sleepless nights for Brock left me feeling like a walking zombie most days. He did have the casts removed on January 4th. He immediately loved the freedom, but it also allowed Brock more movement and in turn created more PAIN! The pain triggered seizures, so I asked to bring back the Lortab for pain, and also called for an increase in his seizure drug Keppra. One or both of those seemed to help the seizures ****cross fingers****

January 9th was Brock Day and, of course, in the spirit of keeping up with his sisters, he had to have Brock Day 'Observed'. We celebrated that Saturday before. It was an awesome day! Brock spent time in the hot tub and we had my parents over that night for a pizza party. Fun day for Brock. He was in such a fabulous mood and full of smiles!!
Ahhhhh! No more casts! Warm bubbles sure felt good to Brock. How great to have such mild temps in January. (Currently, we are making up for it with snow and freezing cold!!)

Team Awesome

I told you we had a PIZZA party!!

Brock lovin' on his annual Brock-E-Bear....Meanwhile the girls are standing off to the side ready to dig into the cake balls I made. ;)

Yeah!!! IT'S BROCK DAY!
Who can ever forget January 9th, 2005 when my miracle boy made it home to complete my trio. Love my little bear.
****************************
Brock (and I) had a big day, January 10th, with his first day back to school since before his surgery. It was also the first day I had to myself in over a six weeks. (I took a mental health day and went to shop antiques with my sis!)

Brock did ok, and eased back into his school routine by attending 3 days this week. Today, there is no school for a teacher's inservice and Monday is MLK day.... A 4 day weekend should give him a break as we adjust to the new back to school schedule.

Avery and Cora are doing well and nothing major to report here.... I will do my best to get back into blogging.
Until next time........................

More pics and catching up...

Brock and I have been hanging out at home. He hasn't let me fully catch up on sleep, but some nights are better than others. His is getting better everyday. However, one side effect from lifting him in these casts is what I call my "Brock-solid-arms." I have some wicked biceps and it isn't even warm weather to show them off! Ha!!! I've been weaning him off his pain meds and so far, so good. He gets his Lortab once at bedtime, but then we have been trying just Ibuprofen the rest of the time, if needed.

The other day, I had to string some jingle bell bracelets for the girls' dance recital. Brock was already playing his drum and he was thrilled to add in some bells to his 'band'. :)

Saturday was scheduled dance pictures for Avery and Cora. While we were waiting, I took a few shots in front of our tree. Avery is smiling so pretty here, but I wish I would have known it was blurry so I could have taken another! Grrr.

Miss Cora Belle looking festive and full of smiles.

My 2 little dancing beauties.

It is a busy time of year for sure and I catch myself becoming so frustrated being stuck at home! How long until Jan 4th when casts come off?!?!?!!?

School programs and dance recital......baking.....present wrapping.... 'Tis the Season.

Until next time.............

Cora Day 2011

Cora Day is December 5th. However, Avery got to have her special day on a Saturday! So.....of course that meant Cora had to have Cora Day Observed on a Saturday also! We must be fair, right?

Cora Day was a bit of a challenge for me. Brock had been in the hospital since his surgery on November 29th and I really pushed the doctors to let us out by Friday, Dec. 2nd. We made it home late that afternoon and that is when I realized Cora was expecting "her day" the next morning!

I had tried to get all my ducks in a row before Brock's surgery, so we were able to pull off Cora Day Observed!

Cora opted for a Winter/Christmas theme. A snowman cake that she and Avery decorated seemed to fit the bill. :)

Here is Cora's work of art!

Avery decorated her own snowman with a pink scarf, of course! --and I made triplet snowmen.

Cora Belle so proud of her cake. Traditionally she gets purple flowers, which were gorgeous even if they didn't "go" with the winter theme of the day. lol

Sisters!

For Cora's gifts she received a purple princess Barbie, a shirt, and a Junie B. Jones Christmas book. She made it somewhat simple and requested hot dogs and mac-n-cheese for her meal! (?)

Happy Cora Day! I'll never forget having TWO babies at home! Such a wonderful feeling, yet it was so hard to wait for Brock....

Brock Day is January 9th. It falls on a Monday, so there is a good chance we may go with this whole observed trend and celebrate it the weekend before!?

Avery Day Observed 2011

Avery Day 2011 was a bit different than previous years.... Avery's coming home day is November 29th. However, that was the day of brother bear's surgery! What to do, what to do??? My idea was to celebrate the weekend before and call it Avery Day, Observed.
It worked well for Avery as she was happy to have a Saturday celebration instead of a school day. :)

Here is my pink princess! Certainly beaming with excitement for her day.

At Avery's request, I made a "pink, stacked-up cake, with Littlest Pet Shop cats." Chocolate cake with strawberry frosting=yummy!

Who likes pink? Avery Rose, of course. Pink roses and all......

Sister Cora loves to share the spotlight.

All in all, it was a great day. For her Avery Day gifts, she received a Rose Splendor Barbie, a pink shirt with cats on it, and a book. She requested KFC for her meal and we spent the day watching movies.

Happy Avery Day! The day I got my first-born home!!
