At least no helicopter.....

Well the turkey did it again. Brock had a seizure Tuesday afternoon......
Upon waking from a short nap, I noticed he was "off" and was really watching him closely. He ended up vomiting a couple of times, then shortly after he began seizing. Diastat worked to stop the seizure within 10 min, but then Brock was working hard to breathe so I headed to the ER with him. On the drive, he started seizing again and more intensely!

At the ER, Brock was given 2 very sedating drugs to stop his seizure---it stopped, but wiped the boy out in the process! He was out of it for hours. About 7pm or so he was admitted to the local hospital for observation. Wouldn't you know, Brock was sleepy until about 3am and then decided to be awake, just when I wanted some rest. He is pretty much back to his normal at the moment.

We are home now and trying to settle back into our routine. I am frustrated by this seizure because he just had a big one July 6th.....but looking on the 'bright side' this didn't last as long and we didn't have to go to Children's hospital in Peoria. Still disappointed since we have Brock on a 2nd med for seizure control. He has a neuro appointment Sept. 3, so perhaps we can adjust something then???? I HATE SEIZURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pre-K begins for ABC on Monday. I am looking forward to seeing how each tolerates their day.
For now, I hope each of us can rest up a little before then..... :)

Bless his sweet heart! I'm so sorry that this happened again so soon. Let's hope that this break-through seizure -- being of a shorter duration and appeared to be a little less difficult to halt -- that the 2nd med is working. It sounds like there was no rhyme or reason for this one.

Thinking of you, Peg!
