Updates...

I just feel like I lost a week in the blink of an eye! I guess they say time flies when you are having fun!!! ;) Brock is finally doing much better. He tried to go to school the other day and I received notice that he became ill and I needed to pick him up?

WHAT?

I sent a smiley boy to school and had to pick up a puny, pukey boy that afternoon. All I can think is that he picked up another bug---this time stomach flu??? Anyhow, I gave him a couple doses of his anti-emetic, Zofran, and it worked miracles! It is always a concern when/if seizure medications don't stay down! Brock recovered and has bounced back fairly quickly.

He has had a couple seizures, but they were mild and short. We have already begun the long, slow process of introducing Lamictal. Cutting a tiny tablet in half, then crushing it is a pain! But, you do what you gotta do..... I feel like a pharmacist sometimes with all the cutting, crushing, etc. of Brock's various meds.

Tomorrow Brock has an evaluation with a dietitian to discuss some possible diet changes that may help with seizure control. I'm not looking forward to the appointment, but I am trying to keep an open mind.

The following Friday, April 15th, Brock has an evaluation appointment with the neurosurgeon. We will see if Brock is a candidate for the VNS procedure.

After his ER visit, Brock went about a week without a seizure. It's amazing how just 1 week can be so appreciated.

Both girls are doing great. They are overly anxious for summer and keep trying all the time to wear flip flops and shorts outside to play. I guess I don't blame them. I too am overly anxious for summer, but am in no hurry to expose my pasty white extremities! LOL

I hope this finds all the ABC fans doing well.
