It's official! The calendar says it is SUMMER!!! My favorite season. Flip flops and suntans.....
The girls got really hot Saturday and wanted to swim. We had a small pool from last season, but couldn't locate it. Chances are it blew away last fall in one of our terrific wind storms. A neighbor (2 miles north!) stopped by with the kids' huge soccer ball and said it blew there a few months ago.....life in the wide open country is always windy it seems. After the ball was returned, Cora surmised that is exactly what happened to our pool from last summer..... Anyway, a quick trip to Dollar General brought an afternoon of fun for 2 little ladies. Brock snoozed the entire time so he will have to check out the water one of these days.
We also had some fun roasting some hotdogs and marshmallows on my new firepit. Ever since I met Jason he as celebrated my birthday on June 21st. This happened because I complained about my actual birthday being so close to Christmasm (Dec 30th). I once joked that I needed a birthday observed---hence my summer celebration on the longest day of year! : ) This year I got some solar sets of landscape lights and a fire pit for the patio.
Today, Monday, Brock had an appointment with the ENT. I expressed my frustrations to him and he finally agreed to clean out brock's ear under anesthesia. Doc said this was a first for him----never had he seen someone so bothered by an ear that only had some old blood.... It's not the first time my Brock has been an enigma for doctors. I think he has been a lot of "firsts" for our pediatrician as well. Perhaps his mission here is to teach people! His procedure will be at 6:30 on Friday 6/27. Please pray all goes smoothly and that this will finally bring relief to my Brock's ear troubles!
