Father's day weekend was a busy one! Those of you following the saga of potty training will be happy to know Cora and Avery have accomplished it and earned their reward---big girl beds. As Cora would tell you "stacked beds". Quite the ordeal tracking down some decent bunk beds that weren't poorly constructed out of metal or too lavishly priced for a couple of preschoolers. We settled on these. Funny thing is that Cora kept insisting she was going to sleep on the top bunk.....mommy here wasn't too sure I even wanted ANYONE sleeping up there. But, she tried it out and she slept Saturday night there just fine----Avery on the bottom is the one that fell out and ended up sleeping UNDER her bed! LOL. The most hilarious part about this is when I got up in the night, I decided I would check on them to see how they were doing. Silly me just rolled out of bed and didn't bother putting on my glasses.....I walked into the room and thought each were sound asleep and all were well. A while later, Jason asked me if I knew Avery was sleeping on the floor under her bed! That is the last time I do "safety checks" without my glasses! LOL I couldn't even see my own little girl on the floor. Then again I was just looking in the bed not UNDER it!
Father's day on Sunday was nice. We just had lunch at my mom and dad's house. Shortly after I noticed the sky getting darker and clouding up. We checked the radar and I suggested we get packed up and out of there before it rained. Well it certainly was a good idea to leave when we did. My parent's lost 2 trees and an electric pole with a transformer went down in the strong winds. They were without power for over 13 hrs, but the power company was on the spot and worked straight through the night. I was in awe as I drove into our little town of Bushnell this morning to take kids to summer school. There are downed trees all over the place! Scary stuff.
Brock's ear troubles continue. He was up many times in the night screaming and grabbing at his ear. I am currently waiting on a call from the ENT to see what we should do. I can't just wait this out any longer. Brock is suffering and I hate to feel so helpless!
Check out some pictures from the girls' new beds......The video is so funny to me when Avery makes a comment that she is "up here"---she got confused I think as she is the one on the BOTTOM! LOL
